Police Make 19th Arrest in Connection with Prairieland Anti-ICE Action

Police accompanied by FBI agents arrested Lucy Fowlkes in Weatherford, Texas January 5 in connection to the July 2025 armed action against ICE at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. Fowlkes’ arrest brings the total so far arrested in connection to the armed action to 19.

Johnson County, TX prosecutors have charged Fowlkes with two counts of “hindering the prosecution of terrorism”, a 1st degree felony, according to a press release by the Dallas Fort Worth Support Committee, an organization supporting the Prairieland arrestees.

The criminal complaint alleges Fowlkes advised several others to delete text messages discussing the action. Fowlkes’ legal first name Samuel is used in the criminal complaint.

Fowlkes is held at the Johnson County Jail, where, according to the DFW Support Committee, the Prairieland arrestees face torturous conditions at the hands of correctional officers.

Monopoly media reports that during the July 4 2025 armed action demonstrators shot fireworks at the ICE facility and spray painted anti-ICE messages. According to the old-state, a police officer received a minor gunshot wound from an AR-style rifle during the demonstration.

The federal government claims Fowlkes and the other arrestees are part of an “antifa cell” that planned and carried out the July 4 action. Prosecutors’ attempts to paint the arrestees as part of this “cell” are in line with the ultra-reactionary Trump administration’s deepening of repression through declaring “antifa” a “domestic terrorist organization.” In December, the administration ordered police agencies to commence investigations of individuals and groups based on “antifa” ideology rather than purported illegal activity.

The Prairieland arrestees are facing a mix of federal and state charges. The DFW Support Committee says that that nine defendants pleaded not guilty to federal charges as of December 2025, while seven others pleaded guilty according to monopoly media. Monopoly media also says that some of the arrestees have collaborated by affirming the old-state’s story of defendant Benjamin Song as the alleged shooter at the Prairieland action.
