This month Alberto Fujimori, the genocidal, land selling, fascist former president of Peru, was freed from his prison sentence for orchestrating murder in a culmination of the plans of imperialism, mainly US.
Convicted of crimes against humanity by the Inter American Court of Human Rights and sentenced to 25 years, Fujimori walked free after serving only 18 months of house arrest. This is the second time that the fascist has been pardoned by Peruvian presidents.
Fujimori is rewarded for his service to the imperialist domination of Peru. Under his presidency he collaborated with the US CIA and instituted a self-coup to attack the masses and the Communist Party during the advance of the People’s War in 1992. Under Fujimori, mass repression was unleashed in the most reactionary manner, with forced sterilization, the large scale use of death squads, destruction of entire villages, torture and murder and the arrests of intellectuals.
As the revolution was advancing into the shantytowns surrounding the cities, Fujimiori unleashed death squads targeting and killing anyone engaged in efforts to improve living conditions. In one incident in 1992 a community cookout was taking place raising money for repairing infrastructure—it was ambushed by paramilitary troops of the anti-communist Colina Group connected to Fujimori and the Peruvian armed forces. 15 people were killed. In a separate massacre, the Colina Group kidnapped a professor and nine of his students, accused them of being members of the Communist Party, and then tortured and killed them. This is how the old state goes about dealing with the masses and the revolution. On top of this, Fujimori and his right hand man Vladimiro Montinsenos were implicated in narcotics trafficking and forging letters of surrender which they claimed were written by Chairman Gonzalo of the Communist Party of Peru.
It reveals the reactionary class character of the old Peruvian state that they claim Fujimori’s release was due to his old age. Chairman Gonzalo on the other hand was given no such consideration and remained defiant in one of the most vile prisons on earth as the world’s most closely guarded prisoner, and greatest living communist; he was in old age and failing health until he was assassinated on September 11th 2021. Chairman Gonzalo gave his life to the Peruvian revolution and the World Proletarian Revolution unbroken and without capitulation in what he turned into a moral, political, and military victory against imperialism, revisionism, and reaction which sought to force him to capitulate with the help of the traitorous Right Opportunist Line.
While Fujimori is free to pass away peacefully like Henry Kissinger and the people are temporarily denied justice, the Chairman taught us how to die as Communist revolutionaries, in service of the people and never surrendering. Chairman Gonzalo will now live forever in the struggle and Gonzalo Thought will never stop serving the Peruvian revolution and the World Proletarian Revolution of which is it part. It is the example and teachings of Chairman Gonzalo which guarantee that all reactionaries like Fujimori wherever they exist will be wiped forever from the face of the earth.
