The Editorial team at The Worker promotes the following Maoist principles to be consciously taken up by comrades as New Year resolutions. As we enter another year of deepening crisis and fiercer resistance, Maoism offers the following principles to fortify revolutionary work, while combating rightism and revisionism.
1) Be more honest, frank, and open
2) Have firm positions and do not conceal your views
3) Dare to stick to principle and dare to struggle
4) Clearly formulate your opinions on every political question
5) Adopt a clear attitude of either approval or opposition
6) Avoid ambiguity and equivocation
7) Have the attitude of seeking truth from the facts
8) Have a scientific attitude
9) Avoid exaggerating or minimizing the importance of things
10) Speak simply; stick to reality
11) Vigorously oppose the insidious method of saying one thing and doing another
12) Oppose reversing agreements
13) Be open-hearted, modest, and prudent, and not prideful or irritable
14) Consciously learn from mistakes and actually avoid making them
15) Avoid justifying mistakes or blaming them on someone else
16) Struggle hard to follow Chairman Mao’s teachings
