Elon Musk Driven Out of Government

JM

Elon Musk confirmed his departure from the Trump Administration after months of mass protest against him and his companies. Musk was responsible for leading the Department of Government Efficiency, the body which slashed public spending resulting in the loss of approximately 280,000 jobs across 27 government agencies and heightening austerity measures in response to the imperialist economic crisis.

Musk cites disagreements with Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” as the reason for his departure. However, pressure has been mounting for months inside of Tesla due to the controversial role of Musk in government. Tesla’s profits fell by 71% in the first quarter and Trump’s tariffs and sanctions promise to further affect the monopoly. In Loveland, Colorado a Tesla dealership was attacked five times, throughout January, February and March with fire bombs and graffiti. In Las Vegas, Nevada a Tesla dealership was attacked with incendiary bombs in March, with the same happening in Salem, Oregon in April. Vandalism of Tesla dealerships and charging stations has taken place around the country as well as in Canada, the UK and France. The monopoly has seen protests at its dealerships on a weekly basis around the country.

Musk, the world’s richest monopolist, is reported to have spent at least $300 million backing Trump’s presidential campaign and other strategic campaigns of Republicans. While having recently made statements to the effect of reducing his political spending, Musk proclaims continued support for the far-right imperialist-in-chief Donald Trump.

While monopoly media remain ambivalent about the reasons for the billionaire’s departure from government, the masses have spoken since the start of the year on no uncertain terms with protests and actions demanding Musk’s removal from government, a victory they have accomplished sooner rather than later. Though he has departed his role as an imperialist politician, his interests continue to be maintained by the decaying bourgeois state.
