We republish the following statement from the International Communist League regarding the recent martyrdom of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) Comrade Basavaraj, along with the 27 comrades who fell in combat with him. The Worker specifically highlights and urges comrades to take up the “Special and urgent call” put out at the end of the document calling on comrades to take up the campaign in memory of Comrade Basavaraj, in defense of the CPI (Maoists) and its people’s war, and against the counterrevolutionary operation Kagaar carried out by the old-state against the people.
