On Friday (07/18), Democrat Mafia representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) voted against an amendment that proposed to deduct yearly congressional spending of $500 million toward Israel’s “Iron Dome” program.
After facing criticism, she made a social media post justifying the vote by claiming that the amendment would cut off “defensive aid”, as opposed to “offensive aid”. Contrary to her genocide-apologia, all aid to Israel is inherently offensive, as Israel is an occupying force. The Iron Dome along with other aerial defense systems has helped preserve the state of Israel by intercepting missile attacks, though over the last year there has been an increasing number of missiles getting through and causing major damage to the Zionist state, particularly by Iran and Yemen.
The amendment, proposed by Republican Mafia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, displays the deepening contradictions within the Republican Mafia. While the majority of Party politicians support a high degree of funding to Israel, a small and vocal minority are rallying around the slogan “America First” to call for slashing funds for Israel and other US semi-colonies.
AOC has been a consistent opponent of Palestinian resistance all while posing herself as an ally of the Palestinian people. In her first press release after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, she made sure to note: “I condemn Hamas’ attack in the strongest possible terms” in the midst of her empty tears for Israel’s killing of civilians.
In November 2024, AOC voted in favor of a resolution entitled “Condemning the global rise of antisemitism and calling upon countries and international bodies to counter antisemitism”, which states that Palestine solidarity demonstrations in the wake of Al-Aqsa Flood coincide with a rise in antisemitism and explicitly supports the existence of the State of Israel.
Even before Al-Aqsa Flood she trafficked in support for Palestine, crying in the House of Representatives after voting “present” on a bill that would provide $1 billion in funding for Israel’s “Iron Dome”.
AOC carries out the interests of the Democratic Mafia in attempting to take leadership of the Palestine solidarity movement to push it down the dead-end path of electoralism and support for Israel.
