Two Palestinian resistance fighters killed at least 6 Israelis and injured 17 more in a shooting operation at a central bus station of the illegal Ramot settlement in occupied Jerusalem on Monday (9/8). The young fighters, Muthanna Amro from the village of Al-Qubeiba and Mohammed Taha from the village of Qatanna, were martyred in the operation after fighting to their last breath. They bypassed heavily fortified Israeli checkpoints, boarded an Israeli bus and opened fire with the Palestinian-made Carlo submachine gun.
The attack received widespread support from the Palestinian resistance, praising the heroism and professionalism of the operation. Hamas described the attack as a “natural response” to Israeli genocide and desecration, which they said “will not pass without punishment.” The Popular Resistance Committees in Palestine declared, “between Ramot and Ramon, the zionist illusions of security and false victory are dissipating”, calling on fighters to “set our land on fire under the feet of the usurping zionists.”
With the backing of the US, the Israeli government has been intensifying its genocide and occupation of the West Bank through the joint terrorism of Israeli settlers and its armed forces. Only days ago, Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich had proposed Israeli occupation of over 80% of the West Bank, intensifying the necessity for resistance.
In July, Abu Obeida, the spokesman of Hamas’s armed wing Al-Qassam Brigades, issued a statement calling for more resistance: “We call on our heroic youth to escalate the acts of resistance in all areas of the West Bank and Al-Quds, and to rise up in the face of the aggressors to deter them from persisting in their crimes and from moving forward with the plan to annex the West Bank, before what remains of Palestine is lost from the hands of our people.”
Earlier in the same day as the shooting, resistance fighters in Gaza successfully annihilated 4 Israeli soldiers by throwing an explosive device at an Israeli tank crew in northern Gaza and opened fire on them, killing the entire crew including its commander. The resistance in Gaza has countered the latest invasion of Gaza City with ambushes hitting Israeli troops as soon as they penetrated the outskirts of the city, coordinating between the various resistance factions in actions that Israeli military officials and analysts are calling increasingly bold and “more organized”.
Throughout the same day, Yemen’s Ansar Allah launched several drone strikes against the Zionist entity. According to a statement released by the Yemeni Armed Forces, they successfully targeted Israel’s two largest airports, as well as “a sensitive target in Dimona in occupied Palestine.” The attacks have forced Israel to shut down its airspace, disrupting air traffic while they remain on alert for drones.

The attacks follow from a successful hit on Ramona Airport on Sunday, Israel’s second largest airport, which left at least 8 Israelis injured. The attack was part of a larger operation; according to the Yemeni Armed Forces: “The UAV force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation with a large number of drones targeting numerous targets in the Negev, Umm al-Rashrash, Ashkelon, Ashdod, and Yaffa regions.”
“The Yemeni Armed Forces assure all air navigation companies that the airports inside occupied Palestine are unsafe and will be continuously targeted,” they asserted. Yemen ramped up its air blockade on Israel in May this year in response to the escalating genocide and blockade of Gaza. The latest attacks come after Israel assassinated a number of top government officials in Yemen in an airstrike in late August.
Ansar Allah and its armed forces remain defiant, and have pledged to only increase their attacks on the occupiers: “The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that they will escalate their military operations and will not back down from their support for Gaza, regardless of the consequences.”
