Palestinian Resistance Cracks Down on US-Zionist Collaborators and Gangs in Gaza

Following the great triumph of the ceasefire in Gaza on October 10 and the release of nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, the Palestinian resistance has been carrying out a large-scale campaign against US-Zionist collaborators in Gaza. Waves of arrests and annihilations of US-Zionist collaborators, drug traffickers, and gangsters have been documented over the past week with broad support from the Palestinian people.

While withdrawing some of its forces from Gaza as part of the ceasefire agreement, Israel has continued to use agents throughout the Strip to annihilate civilians and security forces as well as traffic drugs to destroy the Palestinian people and its fighters from within.

US President Trump has wavered on the anti-collaborator campaign, seemingly to initially express support for it. In an October 14 press conference, Trump stated, “[Hamas] did take out a couple of gangs that were very bad. They did take them out and killed a number of gang members. That didn’t bother me much to be honest with you.”

However, two days later Trump posted on social media that “if Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them”. Commander of the US Central Command Brad Cooper also posted, “We strongly urge Hamas to immediately suspend violence and shooting at innocent Palestinian civilians in Gaza.” There is no evidence to suggest that the annihilated individuals were civilians, or innocent for that matter.

The hypocrisy of the US government feigning concern for the deaths of Palestinian civilians fools no one—the soldiers and weapons used for their genocide over the past decades, and especially the last two years, were only made possible through the full backing of the US ruling class. The ruling class only traffics in concern for the lives of the people when it affects their domination.

Contrary to the myth of the Palestinian resistance indiscriminately killing Palestinians as a means of terrorizing them to maintain their order, the campaign against collaborators and gangs has the full backing of the resistance factions, major Palestinian clans, and broad support among the people.

The Head of the Supreme Commission of Palestinian Clans stated on October 14: “We stand strongly with the security services to maintain security and the social fabric. We will not accept the return of chaos, looting, and theft. The stray groups that threw themselves into the arms of the occupation must pay the price today. We are working in full coordination with the security services in the Strip.”

Additionally, Palestinian resistance organizations issued a joint statement describing the campaign as “a national necessity to protect citizens and preserve internal stability.”

As part of the campaign, Hamas established a week-long amnesty window for members of criminal gangs that were not involved in murder to turn themselves in following the ceasefire. During this time, over 50 gang strongholds were eliminated, and, according to Mondoweiss, Hamas has now begun preparations for its largest campaign against collaborators to date.

US imperialism’s wishful lies of a weak and nearly-defeated Palestinian resistance are disproven daily by the latter’s continued governance of Gaza and reclamation of territory as Israel withdraws. The US-Zionist attempt to disarm the resistance has once again failed as the factions have stated in one voice that they will not disarm as long as the occupation continues. The resistance stands strong in a political, military, and moral victory reinforced by their successful campaign to rid Gaza of collaborators and gangsters.
