On Monday March 27th, guards at a Mexican detention center in Ciudad Juarez, just feet from the US, boarder walked away as 39 prisoners burned to death. This is the mentality of those animals who serve imperialism.
The blood of those migrants who dared to struggle against their inhuman detention is not only on the hands of the callous and indifferent guards, it pools up in fetid oceans at the feet of United States imperialism. The abuse, torture and imprisonment of migrants is not a simple matter of policy any more than imperialism is a policy of the capitalist ruling class. Imperialism is a mode of production, which is characterized by parasitism and the national oppression of the third world coupled with exploitation in the first. The reasons the poor are compelled to flee their countries of origin have everything to do with plunder and mainly it is the US imperialists doing the plundering. Nonetheless, the immigration policies of the current ruling party in the US, the Democratic Party, are set to where asylum seekers entering the country cannot apply for amnesty in the US, they have to do so before entering. The application process is stalled and dragged out, and during this long period the asylum seekers and other migrants, mainly poor peasants and working class people, are held in prisons in Northern Mexico, like the one in Juarez.
The Democratic Party and President Biden are no less reactionary than the former Trump administration, the process of reactionization continues and every single administration seeks to deport and imprison more than the last. Under the title 42 policy, the Biden administration has carried our more than double deportations than the Trump administration.
US imperialism simultaneously keeps the countries in Latin America impoverished in order to foist cheap goods upon them, mainly the very things they need to make low cost exports, as well as to create a wide swath of cheap labor in those countries all creating conditions which force people to flee to the very country which keeps them poverty. If they make it to the US at all it is with great risk of death and detention, here they find nothing but low paying jobs where they are to be hyper-exploited.
The fire in late March was one more reminder that policies of the ruling class, regardless of their particular party, seek only to shore up the horrors imposed by their mode of production. The crimes of the imperialist system will likewise not be mitigated significantly by this or that policy, but put to an end by the forceful overthrow of the imperialist system on the world scale. Workers in the US have everything to gain by standing with the working people of Latin America against their common enemy. Revolutionaries in Mexico and the rest of Latin America are struggling fiercely to reconstitute their Communist Parties, launch peoples wars, or continue to develop their peoples wars as part of the New Democratic Revolution, a revolution which will triumph over imperialism and erases the old backward order of semi-feudal bondage and without interruption develops into socialist revolution.
