The Yemeni Armed Forces of the anti-imperialist group Ansarallah successfully struck a military site in Tel Aviv using a hypersonic missile on Sunday according to its spokesman. A statement from the armed forces claimed “a qualitative military operation targeting an Israeli enemy military objective in the area of Yaffa (Tel Aviv)” that caused “fear and panic among the Zionists, with more than two million Zionists rushing to shelters for the first time in the history of the Israeli enemy.” Israeli media and authorities confirmed the number, adding that 9 Israelis were injured during the rush to shelter and that the missile landed near Ben Gurion Airport, causing a forest fire and destruction to a train station.
In late July, Ansarallah was able to carry out a drone strike in Tel Aviv that passed Israeli defenses undetected as well, striking close to the US Embassy and killing one Israeli and injuring 10. The latest development highlights Israel’s continued inability to intercept Yemeni attacks and the development in the weaponry used by the resistance forces.
After Sunday’s strike, Ansarallah political bureau member Hazam al-Assad tweeted in Hebrew: “Surprises are still coming”. Yemeni sources also report downing a $32 million American MQ-9 drone over Yemeni airspace, the third one shot down this week and the tenth since October 7.
As the Zionist invasion of the occupied West Bank enters its third week, the Palestinian resistance continues to score victories against the Zionist invaders. In recent days, Hamas’s al-Qassam Brigades detonated several explosive devices against enemy vehicles, eliminating the vehicles and their crews. Islamic Jihad’s al-Quds Brigades also claimed confirmed hits against the Israeli forces in the West Bank. On Sunday, Israeli media reported that a police officer was injured in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem. Resistance forces also opened fire against Palestinian Authority headquarters in Jenin for their collaboration with Israel and their targeting of resistance fighters.
This comes nearly a week after a Jordanian man opened fire at Israeli security forces on the border between Jordan and the West Bank, killing three Israelis, as well as a separate car-ramming attack in the West Bank that severely injured an IDF officer.
In late August, the IDF launched one of its largest operations against Palestinians in the West Bank since the Second Intifada, during which the IDF carried out assassinations and massacres but mainly targeted and destroyed civilian infrastructure. At least 50 people have reportedly been killed and many more wounded and displaced, including Turkish-American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was shot dead by an Israeli sniper after she attended a peaceful protest in the West Bank. Israeli forces also bulldozed key Palestinian infrastructure across numerous cities and refugee camps, with 70% of Jenin city’s roads and water and sewage networks destroyed. The resistance has in turn ramped up its attacks against the invading Zionist forces, resulting in a number of IDF casualties and vehicles destroyed. Al-Quds Brigades published a video of an armed march through the streets of the Jenin refugee camp commemorating the martyrs of the 10-day “Horror of the Camps” battle.
In Gaza, al-Qassam Brigades have been relatively quiet for the last few days, with military analysts at Palestine Chronicle speculating this is due to reorganization as the resistance prepares for the next phase of the battle in Gaza. Still, on Sunday, al-Qassam Brigades “targeted an Israeli military bulldozer… east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, in a complex operation.” Al-Quds Brigades also carried out an attack in Rafah, successfully destroying a Zionist tank with two RPG strikes.
The Lebanese anti-imperialist organization Hezbollah has continued its attacks on northern Israel and its occupied territories. On Saturday, the anti-imperialist movement successfully targeted Israel’s Northern Corps Reserve Headquarters, the Galilee Division Reserve Base and its logistics depots, the base and headquarters of the 282nd Artillery and Precision Missile Brigade and its armament and emergency depots, the headquarters of the 810th Harmon Battalion in the Maaleh Golani barracks, and artillery and tank positions, among other military positions. The resistance fighters used a combination of Katyusha rockets, guided missiles, drone strikes, and artillery shells.
Hezbollah has carried out over 1,000 military operations and killed and wounded over 2,000 Israeli soldiers in the first 250 days of war, according to Hezbollah sources. On Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signaled an escalation in the ongoing war against Hezbollah and Lebanon, which his cabinet has been preparing since early October. Israel previously tried to re-occupy Lebanon in 2006 during an all-out war between the two countries, leading to a historic defeat of Zionist forces at the hands of Hezbollah.
