A Few Remarks on the Stupid Ideas of the Opportunists and Splitters

In our assessment, the “Communist Organization” statement for May 1, 2026 does not deserve more than a few remarks. More will be said at a later date and at appropriate length on those who align with their views.

Remark One: Who are the Communists? Who Are the Splitters?

In December of 2022 the website Communist International-Internacional Comunista issued a powerful, just, and correct statement titled Statement on the Situation of the Maoists in the USA, which established the correct attitude of revolutionaries in this country and still provides the best advice and only clarity on the Committee to Reconstitute the CPUSA’s ongoing initiative to unify all of the communists in the task of reconstituting the Communist Party. We highlight a few of its points: the attempt to liquidate the Committee to Reconstitute the Communist Party of the USA causes confusion and harms the effort for the reconstitution of the CPUSA; it does not serve revolution and does not combat revisionism; on the international level, the Committee to Reconstitute the Communist Party USA continues to be the only recognized organization that represents the struggle for the reconstitution of the Communist Party. It raises a clear task, develop two-line struggle through correct channels and discard postmodern criteria.

No matter the phony attempts to appear confused on these very straightforward positions, there can be no misunderstanding them. Nonetheless, the cretins of the so-called “Communist Organization” declare themselves the new center.

All attempts to form an organizational center to replace the one forged in class struggle are liquidationist in the sense that they split from what exists in an effort to create more centers; this is not how Communists operate. It is opportunist in the sense that, once having accomplished a split and inventing a false counter-center for reconstitution, the so-called “Communist Organization” has failed for years to properly ideologically demarcate to establish why such an action is necessary. This is the ideological, political, and organizational essence of the so-called “Communist Organization,” a false center made up of those who take advantage of a split and lack the integrity to make the necessary ideological demarcation, of those who run from two-line struggle like cowards.

Remark Two: the part of the split which dubs itself “Communist Organization,” and which has not justified its existence as such with ideological demarcation, is accrued from the less important posts of the movement historically, those who were either deemed right opportunists and kept around, or those who were not considered politically reliable nor to have been comprised of politically principled and solid elements. The dubious riff raff of the past 12 years have consolidated into the fake “Communist Organization.” Only the upheavals of the split could allow such charlatans to strike a pose as a “new” organization. They are unqualified to wear the title of “Communist-in-formation” and are really amateurs who run from two-line struggle and ideological development. To strike a pose as the real revolutionaries, they have perpetuated countless falsehoods against others, repeating again and again the fabrications of the Politically Degenerate Right Liquidationists. This crosses a moral, ideological, and organizational line which no revolutionary can cross; to do so marks one a class traitor.

Remark Three: the so-called “Communist Organization” steps backward on the question of ideological denomination by calling themselves only “Marxist-Leninist-Maoist,” when in this country it has been won through class struggle and two-line struggle that the correct denomination of Marxism today is fully understood and conveyed as Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, principally Maoism with the contributions of universal validity of Chairman Gonzalo.

In fact, the “Communist Organization” at first denominated the ideology in their 2024 founding statement as “Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, Principally Maoism, With the Contributions of Universal Validity of Chairman Gonzalo.” This statement has since disappeared without comment from the website on which it originally appeared, “the-masses.org,” as one of the many victims of the expurgation of articles from that website when it was taken over by the “People’s Defense Committee.”

In true opportunist fashion, the so-called “Communist Organization” does not express why this concealment of their past denomination and their step backward is ideologically necessary or correct and the established denomination is unnecessary or incorrect. This is a matter fundamental to two-line struggle, a matter of ideological principles, of not going back on what has been established.

Remark Four: the opportunists present “the primary contradiction facing revolutionaries is the contradiction between the burning need for the Communist Party and the lack of communists….” This is confusion. The principal contradiction for revolutionaries is the same that is principal for society; the one determining all other contradictions in the US today is the one between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. This is what establishes all revolutionary tasks including the main one currently, reconstitution of the CPUSA, a flag raised by the Committee to Reconstitute the CPUSA and distorted by these sloppy theorists.

By placing reconstitution as the primary contradiction, as opposed to the main task to resolve the actual principal contradiction in the US, the “Communist Organization” reveals they place the evolution of their small circle as the main thing to accomplish in capitalist society. Sectarianism becomes principal over everything else.

Remark Five: the opportunists’ argument for “unity” is a vulgar and flimsy cover for their splittist ideology. They distort Lenin and misrepresent the situation in this country. The split in the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party between the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks was accompanied by a thorough ideological demarcation between Marxism and revisionism; the process of long and arduous two-line struggle was presented in various rigorous texts. Using Lenin to justify splittism is revisionism and opportunism plain and simple.

Remark Six: these liquidationists-inside-out highlight the need for an organizational center but deny this in practice by splitting from a single movement and a single center and artificially constructing a new one. The proletariat, and the world view that is in its interests, cannot have a multitude of competing interests; this is bourgeois. Reconstitution is not a question of variety of options. The so-called “Communist Organization” failed in two-line struggle; they failed when attempting to impose their rightist opportunist line on the Left and so they abandoned the two-line struggle; they split to start over with something “new.” This is bourgeois and reflects bourgeois methods. If the right opportunists were correct and had correct methods, then their line would be at the helm of the Committee to Reconstitute the CPUSA and not a “new” organization.

Remark Seven: the so-called “Communist Organization” quotes A Basic Understanding of the Communist Party of China in denouncing splits, only to conceal their role as splitters in the process of reconstitution for the past five years. Opportunists must present themselves as angels who fell from the sky, clean of the mud of the past. Those without goldfish brains remember them, who they are, where they stood, and can see where they stand now. The proletariat never forgets and will mete out its justice on the heads of traitors, as its subjective conditions improve. This is the fate awaiting all revisionism.

Remark Eight: the so-called “Communist Organization,” a right opportunist HQ, liquidationist and revisionist, lies about how it was founded: “The Communist Organization was established amidst hard two-line struggle against opportunist theories of ‘merger’ and ‘bourgeois diplomacy’ which dominate the revolutionary movement of the United States,” and “It was the advanced forces within the revolutionary movement, representative of its left line, on the basis of a shared will, unity under the ideology, and through two-line struggle conducted amidst class struggle, and the struggle against opportunism, that forged the initial basis of unity on which a centralized organization of Communists-in-formation was established by welding together various revolutionary circles.”

This is self-aggrandizing opportunism meant to deceive only the most gullible readers who are susceptible to this kind of banal defense of splittism. In reality the convergence of these right opportunists was made possible through their intrigue, maneuvering, swindling, and taking advantage of the work of anti-communist splitters, wiggling into openings created by these types, then using administrative maneuvers and parliamentary opportunism to systematically expel any emergence of anyone even resembling the Left. This is how they came into being: by smearing the established Left, by trying to suffocate the emerging Left, and by expelling the middle elements to consolidate the right. This is their real process of development.

Concluding Remark: do not be taken in by the tricksters, the false Maoists who traffic in the ideology of the international proletariat only to promote counter-currents to the reconstitution effort which has been paid for in blood. Do not be taken in by the ultra-sectarian splittists who cry for unity to justify the dispersal of forces and opportunistically put forward small group interests around themselves.

Implacably and inseparably combat imperialism, revisionism, and reaction. Learn from Chairman Gonzalo, unite under Maoism. The road to unifying the communists has never been easy, but the genuine forces do not need to strike a pose; we march together shoulder to shoulder to accomplish the task based on a concrete understanding of reality, through ideological two-line struggle, parallel and joint actions, and shared responsibility in the fight against scabs, traitors, rats, and class enemies.

LONG LIVE MAOISM, DEATH TO REVISIONISM!
