Imperialist-in-Chief Donald Trump announced that his “Board of Peace” reached a disarmament agreement with the Palestinian resistance in Gaza on July 31, but Hamas and other Palestinian resistance factions rejected this statement as inaccurate.
Dr. Ghazi Hamad, a leading member of Hamas, clarified to Al Jazeera that the handing over of heavy weapons, weapons factories, and the locations of resistance tunnels would only take place when the Zionist entity fully withdraws from Gaza and allows in the allotted amount of humanitarian aid and reconstruction, currently blocked by the Zionists.
Since the false claims of disarmament, Islamic Jihad and Hamas met in Cairo to affirm the national unity of the armed resistance and to coordinate joint action while demanding the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
Trump’s claims that the Palestinian resistance is disarming go back to the signing of the ceasefire in October 2025. As Hamas clarified then, and as is stipulated in the ceasefire agreement, only a future Palestinian state will receive the resistance’s weaponry, with Hamas officials stating that the group does not have the right to give up its weapons when the Palestinian nation wants liberation.
The ceasefire was to proceed in three phases, with the first phase specifying a withdrawal of Zionist forces to a designated “yellow line” in Gaza, from which they would fully withdraw upon entering phase two. Attempting to secure through ceasefire what they could not through battle, the Zionists have been continuously widening the “yellow line,” effectively acting as ever-expanding genocidal kill-zones, while perpetrating demolitions, bombing massacres, and assassinations across Gaza.
Hamas and the other resistance factions have adhered to the ceasefire while combating Zionist collaborator gangs who have aided Israel in assassinating Gazan officials and journalists.
According to the ceasefire agreement, the “Board of Peace” is to coordinate the handover of power in Gaza from Hamas to a technocratic Palestinian government following Israel’s withdrawal from the besieged, resistant enclave. The Board is headed by Trump and comprised of his allied financial oligarchs like Jared Kushner as well as officials of various lackey governments.
The UN Security Council approved Trump’s dubious “Board of Peace” plans in November 2025.
The plan stipulates the entrance into Gaza of an “international stabilization force,” in effect a military occupation by assorted foreign nations volunteering troops under the command of US Army Major General Jasper Jeffers. Hamas has stated repeatedly that any foreign troops entering Gaza would be treated as an occupier, subject to the armed might of the resistance.
The “international stabilization force” has faced difficulties since its announcement in 2025, with multiple countries backing out after the US and Israel’s invasion of Iran on February 28. In March, Indonesia, the largest pledge to the spectral force, pulled out its previously-committed 8,000 soldiers. Al Jazeera cites unnamed US officials claiming the force currently has 5,000 pledged troops.
