On November 17, the United Nations Security Council adopted resolution 2803, based on Trump’s plan for disarming the Palestinian resistance and occupying Gaza. The resolution establishes a “Board of Peace” headed and chaired by President Trump and a temporary “International Stabilization Force” in Gaza, which UN members will contribute personnel to “in close consultation and cooperation” with Israel and Egypt.
The vote result was 13 in favor, 0 against, and 2 abstaining (Russia and China), highlighting the collusion of the imperialist powers for the domination of Palestine.
Following the undeniable victories of the Palestinian national resistance, particularly its recent conquest of the October 2025 ceasefire, the imperialists of the world have united under the banner of crushing it in the name of “peace”—peace for the US-Israel exploiters and their apartheid, occupation, and genocide against the Palestinian people.
Hamas stated that the resolution “falls short of the political and humanitarian demands and rights of our Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip,” describing it as an “international trusteeship,” which the people of Palestine “reject in all its forms,” as reported on the Palestine Chronicle.
US Ambassador Mike Waltz stated in his presentation of the resolution, “[The ISF] will stabilize the security environment, support the demilitarization of Gaza, dismantle terrorist infrastructure, decommission weapons and maintain the safety of Palestinian civilians.”
Unable to defeat the Palestinian resistance through its attack dog Israel, the US has assembled a new army hoping the legitimacy of the UN will provide the cover it needs to carry out its bloody work.
The so-called “Palestinian Authority”—formed during the 1993-95 Oslo Accords by Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) leadership that capitulated to Israel—endorsed the resolution.
The resolution has also been celebrated by collaborator gangs in Gaza—who, unlike the Palestinian resistance, are allowed to participate in the governance structure—which are known to smuggle drugs into Palestine and murder civilians and Palestinian national resistance fighters.
The Palestinian resistance—which continues to enjoy popular support among the Palestinian people and internationally—maintains its commitment to never disarm as long as Palestine remains occupied.
Throughout Israel’s existence, and particularly during the last two years of escalated genocide, the UN has repeatedly denounced Israel’s actions while at the same time taking only symbolic action against the Zionist entity, effectively enabling Israel while hiding its complicity behind bureaucratic red tape
The latest attempt to occupy Gaza, now with the blessings of the UN, serves to leverage what legitimacy the international institution has left in the hopes of dealing a political and military blow to the resistance—an increasingly unstable situation that cannot last long.
