In Mexico, a large event was held in the state of Oaxaca in which the politics and culture of the international proletariat were raised. Periodico Mural reports that “Culture is a powerful weapon and has its influence on our daily lives. The music you listen to in the bus, the books you read or the soap operas that show on TV, everything transmits ideas and – coming from the mass media – those ideas are usually those of the ruling class. An example of this are the narco-corridos that glorify drug trafficking, reactionary violence and the life of hitmen, generating the self-proclaimed ‘narco-culture.'” The comrades carried out the painting of murals, performed song and dance, and raised a memorial wall to fallen comrades including Luis Armando Fuentes Aquino, Javier López Martínez, Jorge Alberto Hernández Jimenez , Jorge Alberto Hernández Torres, among other, also including a recently deceased young comrade Irma Soledad Sorrroza Moguel.
