In the midst of Israel’s genocidal and desperate Operation Gideon’s Chariot, resistance forces have continued to punish Israeli over-extension of military forces through complex ambushes.
On July 2, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades carried out a complex and successful operation in Al-Huda Square in Gaza. The operation was initiated with the detonation of a hidden minefield against Israeli military vehicles, luring Israeli soldiers into surrounding buildings, which were then shot with a guided missile and a TBG anti-fortification projectile. Afterwards, they attacked the rattled forces with smaller arms, taking no casualties while eliminating and wounding several troops.
According to the operation commander, the precise and pre-planned attack sowed “chaos and panic” among Zionist troop, and that “they screamed and fled without firing a single effective shot at our fighters.” The commander estimates around 40 Zionist commanders and officers were annihilated in the attack.
“This complex operation stems from our belief in the importance of making the enemy taste the same cup of death, killing, and displacement that it forces upon our people every moment,” the commander said in a statement.
On the same day, resistance fighters ambushed Israeli infantry in Khan Younis, booby-trapping with explosives the house that troops were hiding out in. The Al-Quds Brigades also destroyed a military bulldozer with explosives alongside a tank with a planted explosive, collaborating with Hamas’s Al-Qassam Brigades.
A sniping attack was also carried out, eliminating a soldier in the Egoz Unit, a specialized and so-called “elite” anti-guerrilla unit.
The Al-Quds Brigades conducted a mortar attack on troops and vehicles advancing into Khan Younis, releasing video footage of the attack:
This comes as Ansar Allah’s Yemeni Armed Forces continue to launch missiles at Israel as part of their aerial blockade campaign. Israeli officials have promised to expand their genocides in retaliation, with Defense Minister Israel Katz claiming: “The fate of Yemen will be the fate of Tehran. After striking the head of the snake in Tehran, we will target the Houthis as well.”
What such claims by the Zionist regime lack in truth, they try to compensate with terroristic bravado. The reality is the US-Israel have capitulated to Yemen and Iran over the past two months, while Israel’s offensive in Gaza continues to fail. Israeli monopoly media has acknowledged Israel’s operation in Gaza as “doomed to fail” before its initiation, citing overestimation of its military strength and the offensive potentially burning bridges of ceasefire negotiations with Hamas. Only one month into its renewed ground operation, the Zionists were forced to order a retreat of most of their troops from Gaza, following continued military defeat amid attacks from Iran.
On Monday (06/30), in the midst of President Trump’s begging for a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian resistance, a ceasefire agreement was presented by Hamas after rejecting the draft by Israel—one that demands continued Israeli military presence in Gaza and the disarmament of Hamas. Israel has rejected Hamas’s ceasefire agreement.
Israel’s Operation Gideon’s Chariot, one-and-a-half months in, has won nothing for Israel. It has plunged itself deeper into crisis by further overextending its forces, which the Palestinian national resistance has righteously acted upon, inflicting moral and military defeat on the occupiers who grow more desperate in their plunder and genocide.
